*Ingredients


°1 large white onion

°2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

°2 tablespoons of paprika

°1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

°1 t garlic powder

°1/2 t oregano

°Salt & pepper to taste

°2 eggs

°1 1/2 c milk

°1 L vegetable oil

°Chipotle, Thousand Island or any other optional dipping sauce

In a medium bowl, combine flour, spices, salt and pepper. Spare.

In other medium bowl, whisking eggs and milk until mixed. Sit aside.

Cutting an inch off pointed end of onion, leaving other end of the root intact. Then remove the paper skin.

Placing onion cutting side down on a cutting board. Starting at ¾ inch to root, cutting vertically down to board with a sharp knife.

Repeat vertical cuts down 1/2 inch on edge, being careful not to overlap previous cuts.

Flipping onions and gently open "petals" of the onion with your fingers so that they resemble a flower. Sit apart.

Dipping onions into reserved flour mixture to coat them. Then sweetly shake off the excess flour.

Sweetly dip in the reserved egg mix to cover it completely. For best results, letting onions soak in mix for 10 minutes.

Returning onions to flour mix again &and cover completely.

Placing onions on a plate and freeze for 30-60 mn, until firm.

Fill deep fryer or saucepan with 3 inches of oil & heat it to 350°F. Placing paper towel on the plate also set apart.

Frying onions for 3-4 mn until golden brown. Then flip it with a perforated spoon & cook for a more minutes to golden brown.

Transfering onions to a prepared dish. Serving with optional dipping sauce also Enjoy!
