Air Fryer Onion Rings

Ingredients:

2 medium-sized Vidalia onions (around 1 pound)

1 ½ cups of panko breadcrumbs

½ cup of finely grated Parmesan cheese

½ cup of all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon of salt

½ teaspoon each of paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder

Cooking spray

Directions:

Begin by trimming both ends off of the onions. Slice the onions into thin, ¼ inch slices and separate the rings.

Set up your dipping station by placing the flour and whisked eggs into separate bowls.

In another bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and all the seasonings together until well combined.

Start the coating process by dipping each onion ring first in the flour, making sure to shake off any excess. Then, dip the flour-coated onion rings into the egg ensuring it is completely covered. Let any excess egg drip off before finally coating them in the breadcrumb mixture.

Arrange the breaded onion rings on a wire rack or on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Lightly spray the top side with cooking spray.

Pre-condition your air fryer basket by spraying it with olive oil using an oil mister. (Please note: avoid using aerosol cooking spray as it might harm the basket's interior).

In batches, transfer the breaded onion rings into the air fryer basket.

Cook the onion rings at 375° F for about 6 to 8 minutes.

After each batch is done, remove the onion rings from the basket and repeat the process for the remaining onion rings.
