If you are using this method, I highly recommend that you start by testing it out in a small area of your closet. Maybe you start inside a doorway where you don't usually see it. My cabinets are very light in color and have a matte finish. I've never noticed a change in my ends, but if you have a shiny finish or your ends are older, chances are you're damaging it.
