How to Clean Your Front Loader Washing Machine

Like anything that comes into contact with water, your washing machine needs regular cleaning and drying to prevent unpleasant odors. Over time, sludge accumulates from detergents, fabric softeners, and various fibers from our clothes. This sludge then gets trapped in the warm, damp environment of the machine.

Start the process by mixing a quarter cup of baking soda with a quarter cup of water.
Add this concoction to your machine's detergent dispenser.
Then, pour two cups of white vinegar directly into the machine's drum.
Run a regular cycle at high heat.
The combination of baking soda and vinegar will dislodge the sludge adhering to your drum.

This method also eradicates any mold, which means no more unpleasant odors.

After the cycle has finished, wipe out the drum to eliminate any residual moisture. Detach the detergent dispenser and clean the tray along with any attachments. You might need to refer to your owner's manual to understand how to remove these trays for cleaning.

After cleaning and drying the detergent dispenser, replace it carefully back into the machine.
